Does anyone know the approximate date the new Macs will be announced/released? I should think that might pop the stock a bit, too.

Not sure which Macs you mean. New PowerBooks are on the horizon, as well as new all-in-one G3s. Rumored sub-$1k Macs and NCs are also supposed to come out Aprilish.

Macosrumors had this to say today:

The G3 AIO should enter price lists (officially) early next month, and be available in BTO configurations on April 30th.

I'm personally getting a little confused as to the differences between sub-$1k, all-in-one, and NC. It's quite possible that they're all the same form factor, with different innards. The all-in-one is starting out with a price of $1499 (I've also heard $1299), but this could easily drop below $1k, I think. And the NC could be an all-in-one with no hard drive and, perhaps, a network-bootable version of MacOS. Who knows?

Linda,

The current rumor mill places the release of Artemis (all-in-one G3 box) at April 30th. And Wallstreet release in May.
