I have probably missed it, but what sub $1,000 Apple computer is he talking about? Hope somebody knows.

That was another misinformed remark that I forgot to include. The current record, to my knowledge, has Jobs talking about a cheaper machine (though no price range was specified) in Spring, which will probably be Artemis ($1499 base, according to MacOS rumors). And mention of a "consumer product" in Fall. Also no specified price. Both came in the interview after Seybold.
