Spurious,
Re -- Tom says AMD will ship a special OpenGL driver with the K6-3D:

Tom says what? NO K6-3D around!!!!

The K6-3D is a farce, and will have to be sold at K6 prices (less than $100).

It offers nothing extra other than maybe a better floating point. All of the existing applications and games will not benefit from it. (Remember MMX and the complaints about the lack of software? The Pentium MMX however had extra L1 cache which provided a performance benefit over the pentium classic).

So even if AMD is hoping that K6-3D will compete with the pentiumII this wont happen.

AMD is doomed to perpetual losses. No matter if the yields are at 100%.
