Mark,
SNRS treats hyperopia (far-sighted) vs. VISX or BEAM
excimer which treat myopia (near-sightedness). SNRS procedure
use Holmium laser's which utilize a patented process that
shrinks collagen, developed and patented by Dr. Bruce Sand
(the "Sand Process"). Its patented Corneal Sparing LTK(tm)
system is a non-contact application for correction of
hyperopia, presbyopia (loss of focus due to aging),
and OVERCORRECTION resulting from VISX/BEAM excimer;
PRK and LASIK. VISX or BEAM CANNOT alter their
technology to perform the same procedure as SNRS.
The excimer laser takes tissue away from the cornea
and the Holmium laser uses heat to shrink tissue around
the edges; two entirely different procedures. No chance of
patent infringement; though we hope to infringe on the
patients they have overcorrected.

As for patient regression, SNRS LTK procedure is stable for
2 years, is far superior and safer then the excimer PRK.
