GG...Only the Wizard keeps up with all of that... I was not aware that Sony HAD a first generation DVD offering. And my understanding has been that the first generation DVD wan't much worth messing with. But look at all those features in the MPEG-II version.. I'm impressed!(but then I'm frequently easily impressed <g>)..
There is one aspect about DVD where the Wizard and I see DVD a bit differently... Whereas he has expressed some disappointment in the pace of DVD implementation, I am reasonably satisfied.. As posted a few days ago, the DVD pace is well ahead, in one year, the rate of implementation that was seen for audio CD. NOW, with the second Gen DVD available, and more titles coming rapidly (there were over 500 titles in Jan)... My impression is that a lot of folks will be ordering the DVD/ROM with their "Home Theater" computers; they lose nothing of their CD-ROM capability and gain all that list of capabilities cited for Sony's DVD... I'm about sold...Wiz will be pleased as punch.. My LSI portfolio groweth sooneth... <g> TSO

GG-- I thought I read something about LSI and Sony during my research on LSI. There was an article on Yahoo (re: G12 chip/technology) that mentioned LSI producing the chip for Sony's Playstation in '93. It is important to maintain a client base, and this looks like a happy customer to me. Regards, Paul
