<<800 x 160 per hr x 8hrs x 5days x 52 wks = 266,000,000 in revs/>>

Having spent many years in the consulting & systems integration business, including seven years with one of the TAVA companies (I left in 1993), we'd dream of that type of billable percentage! In actuality, when you account for vacations, "admin time", transition between assignments, training, and so on, you end up with a billable percentage that averages closer to 80%. Also, since the skill sets for plant floor systems are perceived as more readily available than those in the "back office", the rate trend will continue to drive down, and $160/hour will be awful hard to get for long-term contracts...

That said, however, assuming 80% billable at $125 is still some nice numbers! <vbg>

Cheers!

Rick

Sorry to spoil the part a little:

<<I called Tava's denver office .... they are hiring 500 engineers as I speak/800 x 160 per hr x 8hrs x 5days x 52 wks = 266,000,000 in revs/.This is just the beginning>>

Just a little 'hypey'. If it's true that they will hire 500 engineers:

1. they won't be able to charge $160/hour for them all - it just isn't realistic to believe so;
2. they won't be billing 160 hours x 8 hours x 5 days x 52 weeks. Human beings get sick, they take vacations, ....
3. they will be taking time to mobilize and demobilize from jobs which is often not billable.

This level of hiring is positive, if true, but let's keep the potential in the realm of reality<g>.

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE I called Scott Liolias and he said that such information is NOT TRUE. Presenly TAVA has about 312 engineers. He also said there would be no announcement this week but expected something next week Been in TAVA since late July and adding. Many people have their own agendas on the board so I repeat:
BE CAREFUL OUT HERE AND DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING AT FACE VALUE
Good luck to all - Sam

unless i was hoodwinked, which i don't think i was (we will ultimately find out after may 15th) call the denver HR office yourself ......i.e. 500 engineers

Some other people called Scott too. And it was verified that this was NOT true.

BACH WASN'T "HOODWINKED" - HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING.

It amazed me how many posts there were about this today. It never had the "ring of truth."
