Getcher,

Thanks!! Haven't really thought of that: using time as another variable to manipulate the spread into your favor and lock in some profits.

Andy:

I see your setting up for another one of those posts to Ike about a friend in trouble with a spread position. Good luck <gg>.

On the taxes. Its a crap shoot. Plenty of cash flowing into market from IRA's but we have that every year at this time.

On April 15, we're going to have a ton of cash going to the Treasury. This money is already out of the market and sitting in cash (prudent to have the cash if there is a small correction vs. missing out on some gain, of course this thread sounds like its willing to take on more risk lately).. The result is portfolios will be more % weighted in equities when payments are made.

All the refunds being paid will be put to use in the economy, i.e. car's houses, appliances, vacations etc.

Earnings and interest rates will drive the market in 2nd & 3rd qtrs (what a rocket scientific statement that is <gg>). not IRA cash.

Its a stock picking market. Winners and losers. I don't think the semis or DD's will participate in any rally (at least initially, the semi's later once the Asian mess clears up).

Have to go and won't be back till this weekend. I remember lunch and once May 15th hits I'll have you to ERCC and I'll play golf while you go back to work <gg>.
