Before you add to the number of suits against IOM, you may want to check some other things which may be the source of your problem. In fact, I don't believe (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that picture quality can degrade as a result of storage media degradation. A problem with your ZIP would result in not being able to read the subject file. This would result in no picture at all. Perhaps the problem is in your display settings. Have you checked the number of colors and refresh rate. Others may have more ideas.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Re: degrading digital images stored on zip.

There are several possibilities for the problem. More information would be necessary to solve this.

Is this degradation noticed when viewed on the monitor? When printed? Both?

Is your monitor calibrated? Number of colors your monitor will display? When printing do you apply a printer profile? What is the resolution and size of the file from the digital camera?

If you e-mail a problem photo, will offer a solution at no cost.

And why isn't someone sueing IOM????????

I think you've been imbibing in your own product a little too much and then trying to blame IOM. Do the pictures appear fuzzy, too?

Dharmak2,

You are mistaken. Digital, by the very nature of the beast does not degrade over time. You either get it all, or you get nothing. Look for other solutions, because you'd look pretty stupid pursuing a law suit after this fashion.
