Yousef:

I see you are still around and making your absolute idiotic comments again, and obviously you continue to suffer from a sever case of having illusions of semi godhood! But that is OK as I am sure everyone understands you by now.

In any event, you can go ahead and make all sorts of idiotic comments to downplay AMD. When the day ends you have to look at your bottom line portfolio value! And if you are short in AMD (as you claim you are) all I can think you say when you are alone is a very loud OUCH!!

Remember, when it comes to investing it is the bottom line dollar you make that is important and not the ego! And it seems when it comes to investment the only thing that is growing is your ego and not your bottom line portfolio!

Addi Jamshidi

Yousef,
No, it's not all good news but...
It isn't good news for Intel either.

Just as I have said about you. You have no vision. You think short term. Let me give you a hint.

<<So Maxwell, AMD will "give away" 25% of the company to raise some quick cash to pay interest on their debts. So does that mean that everyone's stock just was depreciated by about 25% ... Doesn't sound so good to me. Unless you are just looking for "short term" trading. Does this really sound like a "healthy" company to you, Maxwell ??>>

It has been a long long time that anyone has competed with Intel. Most have tried and all have failed. It is not easy to compete with Intel. They have the name brand, the manufacturing capacity, the MHZ,
excellent marketing department, and bookoo bucks. AMD has tried and failed with the K5. They tried with the K6 and it was a big success.
5 top tier OEMs have used K6 and they are pleased with the products and the sales. Now AMD computers are popping up everywhere in CompUSA, Best Buy, Office Max, etc. AMD's success DIDN'T COME FOR FREE. They had to sacrifice 3 quarters of losses before they finally win acceptance everywhere. Every K6 that comes off AMD manufacturing line is being sold. DEMAND OUTSTRIPS SUPPLY! PEOPLE WANT K6! K6 is cheaper and better than Pentium.

Now phase 1 of acceptance is over, phase II is to go head to head with Intel. To compete in the big league AMD must produces VOLUME! Volume comes with time but time is a constraint. Intel is moving away from SOCKET 7. Thus AMD is willing to sacrifice PROFITS and EQUITY to get VOLUME! Volume will come from foundry of IBM and possibly Motorola and FAB30 in 1999. There is no way AMD can come up with a BILLION dollar cash overnight to capacitize FAB30. Borrowing a billion dollar of cash now is death due to the repayment of interests. Thus offering stocks and diluting the shares is one method and getting other companies to finance AMD is another.

And you know what? AMD WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM GETIING A BILLION DOLLAR? You know why? Because EVERYONE HATES INTEL. Intel is a bitch and has always been a bitch when doing business. Everyone wants to see someone dethrone INTC and AMD is the only one that can compete with the GIANT. This is what you get when you do business and screw people around.

Why do IBM, STG-Thomson, NEC, Fujitsu, Motorola, etc. think AMD can take Intel down? K6 has a SMALLER DIE. Yield is good. K6 has a better logic core. K6-3D will be a HIT for kids playing game. K6-3D+ and K7 are on schedule. AMD got the $1000 market. People no longer willing to buy expensive computers. Most important of all, AMD IS WILLING TO SELL CONSUMERS/OEMs K6 FOR CHEAP PRICE!

Finally, what institutional investors think of this? They love to INVEST IN A COMPANY THAT CAN EAT A BIG CHUNK OUT OD INTEL. If AMD can they will reward AMD handsomely. You will see what I meant.
