No we're at $3.62 for Iridium. Compared to $3.37 for Globalstar + retailer profit. That's according to the New York Times. The New York Times is probably the most respected paper in this country. Certainly to be believed over "analysts" and anyone who goes by an alias on a discussion group.

Maurice,

I'm going to avoid saying too much about ion propulsion, but you are correct that there must be pros and cons. This, as with everything in life, as always the case.

To exemplify this, I will confess that I have a weakness for sports cars. I could get a turbo model, or a normally aspirated model. Both will get me to work, and both will earn me a speeding ticket. One is a little sexier, but costs more money. And the turbo may even get better gas mileage, all things being equal. The turbo probably will also come with better tires, a more robust suspension, higher capacity cooling system, etc. I don't really want a higher capacity cooling system, just the extra horsepower. But, they go together as a package. In the end, most could get along just fine with the normally aspirated model, but there is just something about the turbo that is going to make it irresistible to certain people.
