Reg-
I read your posts with interest and amusement, uncertain whether you are "having at us" or not. I hope you are, for it is wonderfully, brilliantly done. If not, then we need to talk about the opposite end of communication skills--when one's vocabulary and erudition become an impediment rather than a means to the sharing of ideas! The result is obfuscation rather than clarity, pomposity rather than equality, and division rather than connection.

(My personal opinion is that you are having a good time or I probably wouldn't have said the above)

Reginald -

I share penni's puzzlement -- and her tentative conclusion (you are putting us on). However, there ARE people on SI who actually write this kind of prose. So, please tell us: are you for real?

If you are, please accept my apologies. On any other thread, even raising this question would be rude. But anyone straying onto this thread is fair game for snipers.

Carry on!

Holy thesauruses, Batman! Do you write for ART/Language??? <eom>

The savaging of the English language can be blamed primarily on the societal shift away from the long practiced regimes of reading from and writing upon the printed page. The current technological shift underway from hard copy to phosphorensic prose has all but deluminated the need to write coherently and logically. One can only guess at the far reaching effects this paradigm shift will have on the communicatory and behavioral adeptations congruent with the nullatory exactments faced by the masses as they ponder ubiquitous scenarios based on reason. This is an extremely negative outcome. In order for any remedial rectification to be initiated at first; or in fact, for it to ever achieve absolvable tertiary functionality, a highly systematized, prioritized, task endevouring empowerment status must be hierarchically entrenched, prior to linguistic disfunctionality becoming emplaced.
