Jack, do you collect books? I have been going to garage sales, and picking up whatever I can for 25 cents or so. They are not really old, most from 1930 to the 1950, and are republished editions. Many have leather bindings and have an intrinsic value to me ("The House of the Seven Gables"-Hawthorne, and "Moll Flanders"-Defoe, etc...). I don't buy thinking that they are going to be worth something. I will try to read them all, or re-read certain ones. I like the classics and hopefully will have enough for a small house library. One time I saw a beautiful "Pilgrim's Progress" that had coloured art inside it at a flea market (late 19th, early 20th century edition). I did not buy it and regret it.
