Speed of service is #1 complaint. Forget any on-line trades if speed is important. They don't trade BB stocks is #2 complaint, limits your day trade activities. Usually put on hold for an average of 4 minutes for a live broker is #3 complaint. When you do get one they are not very helpful. System updates on your account on-line are very slow to update is #4. These are just my opinions, and experiences with Ameritrade in the 3 months I've had them. If I was just investing for the long haul, they would be fine.....
