So, what you're really saying is don't expect a "pop" from this announcement. Are you down on the fundamentals of this company? I had heard they are one contract away from a comeback. What business is on the horizon that will get this stock that boost?

I bought in today, so I am behind.

Dennis

I agree with you that this contract is peanuts for Ciena. I'm trying to understand how the DWDM portion of the contract can only be 2% of the whole deal. These are million dollar systems so it would say that BA is only buying somwhere around 30-40 systems which seems smallish. Clearly Ciena has received a second source status. Lucent, IMHO, is the primary supplier for this deal.

This is a blow to the stock and the market has correctly shown its dissatisfaction with this long awaited deal. Management is trying to put the best face it can on it but there is little to be excited about.

I also believe that Ciena will only obtain a second source status with T. There again I would expect LU to get the major share.

IMHO, this stock is dead money for the forseeable future.
