One year's program a waste of time....Ouch... are you then saying that the extrapolated grades are not accruate do to the understatement? What is the "old" style of drilling? I thought this new way was the cat's ass?...... If we are to wait for another program are we not looking at March/April, 1999....I did not think I would have to worry about KRT and the Y2K problems in the same breath........looking like 1999 or beyond before I am comfortably floating in my pool....rats.... These boys will have there work cut out for them to promote this based largely on the the "potential of an understatement" of diamonds... It would be nice to see a drilling committment large enough to "cut to the chase" on these 3 kimbies..... I guess I'll stick my head in tax returns till 4/15....

"the grades are low but that's mainly because of the tracer program.... this program was a complete failure imho.... next time they go in everything comes out and not just 20% of the tracers..... it's up to the market now...is the extrapolated grades a reasonable estimate at this time?? no because the tracers program was a failure imho... are you still making sense? i'll leave that one alone... :-))"

Sorry Buddy, but IMO you are the one who is not making enough sense in this case <<VBG>>.

How can the tracer program be the cause of low grades?

In a tracer recovery program, simulated diamonds are introduced in the kimberlites before drilling. The minimum number of diamonds that should be recovered by the drilling is then known in advance. If the drilling fails to recover that minimum number of stones, the drilling method has failed or is not as good as it should be.

I would say that the tracer recovery program has been a great success. It has proven Dr. Rombouts hypothesis, based on statistical evidence, that the kimberlites may contain a lot more stones than have been recovered.

As far as I can tell, the difference from the 1996 program has been in the "three reverse circulation airblast drill holes which were underreamed" - I wish the 1996 news releases were still available at the Kensington home page - that drilling method doesn't seem to be the most efficient in this context.
