Juniper--the Track facility has a Micrascan III test room, but clustering was not one of the features that was highlighted. When I went on my tour in early March, they had shipped four prototype 200-APS's to four different customers. Such a quick move by one of these customers to a production order is somewhat surprising. That customer may have figured out how to cluster the 200-APS. I did not get the impression on my factory tour that a cluster tool was being marketed by SVG, since the focus seemed to be on proving the 200-APS's merits on a stand alone basis. That SVG has placed a $7 million Micrascan III in the Track facility, however, is a clear indication that they will be clustering the tools at some time in the future.

<funny, but this hasn't even shown up on the yahoo news line> The press release was from Business Wire, which should get picked up by Yahoo. The press release footer is from Laurie Conner in SVG's marketing/corporate communications office rather than from Nancy Szymanski of SVG's investor relations office. Maybe they got their signals crossed. Nothing in the Bizarro World of semi-equip investing surprises me anymore.
