Yes, X, I certainly agree with you about our kids being the future.

But, I also wish there was some way to make parents more responsible for the kids they bring into the world. Not to mention how dangerous it is for them to be wandering around on the playgrounds, hours before school starts, even in some cases before the teachers or playground monitors arrive. This is a situation that will not continue much longer, I hope.

I see nothing wrong with feeding the children cereal, milk and juice in the mornings, but isn't it making it easier for parents to abdicate their own responsibilities. But, I'm sure we will continue the breakfast program, for as long as there is a need for it. Its a joy to see bright little faces in the morning with milk mustaches.

But, isn't the fact that there is a need to feed children in the school, really an indictment of the society we have developed...

And however reprehensible this might be on the part of their parents, to send their children to school without a nourishing breakfast...

WHY? MY MY MY mother tried to force an effing "nourishing breakfast" down my throat for YEARS. I detest breakfast. Always did, always will. Finally she learned. Didn't make any difference to my grades.
