I was cryin' the other day about my "dumbness" in owning 2 drug stocks...PFE & AHP...i said I would exit AHP shortly...

NOT!!! unbelievable it got upgraded today<g>..i'll hold my May 90's....might go to 100<g>

CHTT has reported:CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 1998--Chattem, Inc. (NASDAQ NMS:
CHTT - news), a manufacturer of health and beauty care products and the SUNSOURCE line of dietary
supplements, announced today continued strong operating results for the first quarter of fiscal 1998,
ending February 28. Net sales increased 25%, operating income 35% and earnings per share 316% over
the prior year periods.

Net sales for the quarter increased $6,975,000 to $34,921,000 from $27,946,000 in the corresponding
period of 1997, while income from operations grew $1,272,000 to $4,900,000 from $3,628,000 in the
first quarter of fiscal 1997. Net income for the first fiscal quarter of 1998 was $609,000 or $0.06 per
share as compared to $136,000 or $0.02 per share the first fiscal quarter of 1997. The increase in
earnings per share was achieved despite an 8% increase in the average number of shares outstanding
from 1997 to 1998. Seasonality is a factor in the Company's overall business, with the first quarter
sales and income trailing the other fiscal quarters.
