I find this interesting....

Gregg Isemann does not use "standard methods" in analysis. He uses a proprietary microwave technology in the pretreatment of his samples before aspirating them through his atomic absorption system. Furthermore, Los Alamos National Laboratories conducted similar microwave research and they were able to receive similar results on the "bench scale." However, when they built the BIG ONE (a microwave system that would excite a ton of ore) the metals produced/recovered were in the order of trace quantities.

Due to not being able to scale the process up, LANL terminated funding for the project about two years ago.
