I just stumbled across this thread. Although I'm definitely
not even remotely a Chess Master, I'd like to start a game

I had Utah and was rooting for them but it di not matter. I run a few pools each year and I already took first in one when Utah beat NC and third in the other (with Kentucky) once NC was eliminated by Utah.

So I was disappointed emotionally but made out financially.

Why was your pawn move of no sudden surprise to me?
