Greg,

A big trend in the industry is for companies
to outsource (i.e. hire a subcontractor) more and
more of their manufacturing needs. These needs
include IC and printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication,
PCB assembly, system assembly and testing.

Anticipating this growth in the outsourcing business,
The DII Group, an umbrella organization, has been
collecting companies that provide these and other
manufacturing services. They compete with companies
like SCI Systems, Solectron and the handful
of companies that build custom IC's.

The biggest name, so to speak, within the DII Group's
umbrella is a company called Orbit Semiconductor which
builds custom IC's for their clients.

I have not bought any stock in this company, but have
been watching them as a potential longer-term holding.
