My response from DLJ direct was that the lowest ASK price for yesterday was 19 7/8.

When I asked, "Isn't that a large spread?"

The reply given was, "We use the NY Exchange for our numbers."

This to me seems like what Bob Brinker was talking about re "Trading Stocks"? UTEK is thinly traded compared to Intel.

BigCharts only shows this at 19 1/8th bigcharts.com

I would call again and ask for a better explanation unless they decided your business was not worth a good answer.

regards
Kirk out

I believe it may be time for a new broker.

To the good doctor and all:
IMO these guys are brutal, definitely time for a new broker.
Did they mention the $75 fee to close an account?

Any recommendations for an on-line broker?
I don't recall hearing any advertise on Money Talk recently.
I wonder which one BB would recommend...

I would ask to speak with a supervisor in order to register a complaint with DLJ Direct. If they "make you whole" and you're otherwise happy with their service, why change. If they stick with the first answer, I'd pull my account.

Ian.

Tony, Kirk,

In looking at other sources for UTEK's recent prices, it's possible that DLJ may be right after all. The lowest trade in the past week occurred today at 19 7/8. All other days, it was above 20 1/4.

It's possible that the low shown here at SI were a misprint rather than an actual trade.

Ian.
