Spoke to IR firm today. Very interesting conversation. I feel even better about this as a long term hold. Keep in mind that if they turn a profit in March, that includes extraordinary charges related to closings that will go away. He agreed that the subprime business has the same demand as it always has had. The fact that many companies have filed bankruptcy or got out just means more business for everyone who is left. Left me with the feeling that MFN has an undervalued asset on their books-their portfolio. They were very conservative. No conference call because conference cll are primarily for analysts and analysts are not interested in MFN now. Plus, they don't want to answer questions for obvious reasons. There could be plaintiffs in the audience. They are focuses on turning this business around and surviving right now, not on getting information to shareholders or stock price although that might sound cold.
