OK...MCI is out. It's just a regional office, albeit a big one. Panic reigns in every facility. WCOM? Nah..

ICGX? Hummm....they've got Netcom. That would be a nice partner. Wonder who will get them?

Sprint? Maybe they could use their overinflated market cap that came about as a result of buyout rumours to go on a buying spree themselves. No, it doesn't feel right. I think they're just looking for the big payoff. Don't be surprised if they end up back with GTE. Poetic justice.

US Worst? HA! First they have to install that phone line that they've been promising to a friend of mine in Woodland Park, CO for the last five months. I hate the RBOCs. For all the stock price inflation they've experienced have they ever really done anything innovative except in a court of law? These guys are dead dead dead as soon as wireless telco gets real. Will take a few years but they're going down hard.

Hey, maybe LVLT will merge with DISH (EchoStar). At least they've both got entrepreneurs in charge and they'd probably get along. Just need to figure out why a merger would make sense...oh well, guess it doesn't.

That still leaves QWST and ICGX!
