Alan: Who makes your memory chips :-) Probably mass manufactured. The analogy with the telecom. companies is not a good one.
although there can be cases where a company like Meme could
do ok w/the mfg. costs if they outsourced it. If they try
to mfg. in-house - they might suffer. Who does the manufacturing
for them? Re: the other post about Meme being able to be used
in rural areas. I don't think so. I think you have to be
within wireless radio range of a partnered ISP. So far - they
only own one. Personally - I don't think it is so smart to buy
them. I think it would be better if they partnered with them
(much less expensive & dangerous...as small ISPs will be on their way out within the next few years based on things like cable modems, DSL etc.)

Their financials give me a good laugh (from Yahoo)

Media Entertainment, Inc is a holding company in the wireless cable television and community (low
power) television industries, as well as other segments of the communications industry. For the nine
months ended 9/97, revenues fell 50% to one thousand dollars. Net loss totalled $348 thousand, up from
$528. Revenues reflect lower sales from the community televison segment. Higher loss reflects costs
related to the issuance of 150 thousand shares pursuant to a consulting and legal services agreement.

Though you might see the stock go up short-term on Media hype or attending a show in Dallas on the 2nd. - I wouldn't touch it
with a ten foot pole. (no offense..)
But good luck with it -- whether you are a ST trader or LT.
Maybe you can make a quick hit & then get out after the hype
dies down.
