I am hoping there are some IMAT watchers out there that are interested in exchanging information on this company. I think this is a great opportunity to acquire this company. I think it has dropped on the earnings news and I believe this is shortsighted. If you read the release you will discover that the GE medical people ie. salesman are finishing up their training and are about to hit the streets. I first heard about this machine when my boss ( an influential person in the D/FW area) was invited over to try this new machine that Dr. Kenneth Cooper's clinic just bought. I am told that Dr. Cooper ( father of aerobics) is very excited about this technology. In the months since they have received followup orders from the MAYO clinic and other very prestigious heart centers. The heartscan centers were killing them but they have a contract to sell those centers and concentrate on just selling the machines that the article in Newsweek called the "mamogram of the heart." I got a kick out of reading the article in this month's Reader's Digest where a guy wanted to lure his overweight partner to a clinic to get a scan. It turned out his partner had a very normal calcium reading , however the man who thought his partner might have a problem turned out to have a major blockage in his aorta. It probably saved his life. I have also heard through my boss that it probably saved the life of a very wealthy judge in this area who didn't know he had a problem until he was scanned. Also your research should turn up the study that was presented some months ago that named the scanner as ten times a better indicater of heart disease than the next best test which was a cholesterol test.
