I'm not sure that's the answer. Actually, what if we imagine a world where lead generation/optimization may be slightly more expensive, but significantly more productive? For example, I belive the current odds are that 1 in 25 candidates actually makes it to market (somebody correct me). If we can increase those odds to 1 in 15, or even 1 in 10, then the cost of lead generation/optimization PER MARKETED PRODUCT will drop precipitously even if the per candidate cost rises by 10-20%.

Interesting question on who this benefits. As for speeding up, and decreasing the cost, of the innovation cycle, IMO this just lowers the barriers to entry which almost always favors the smaller, newer competitors.
