Hi everyone, this is my first post to SI.
I've been lurking in some of the threads and while many have thoughtful people and some boorish behavior, I have to say that the AMD thread is one of the nastiest. People, calm down, we're all here to learn and make money. A dozen posts in a row beginning with 'Well your mother...' or some such seems like an awfully childish way for people investing serious money to behave.
Back to the topic. I do have to wonder if the recent AMD rally is sustainable. I have nothing against AMD and I do think they will eat into Intel's low end (while Intel invades the really high end with Merced). But the K6 has been out for a long time and I simply have not seen the hard data that says AMD has solved their yield and debt problems. It seems to be mostly rumors. Where's the beef? Maybe the market is correct and all the yield and debt issues will be resolved, but this rally just seems premature and vulnerable. My humble opinion anyway.
