Current state of affairs at IDX . . . We have had a little news lately that won't affect this quarter, but does look good in the near future: Sylvan/NASD, the Cook County contract and, least, the Turkish parliament. These are announced, and are not speculative, like other good possibilities that have appeared on this board. We have had no bad news. Buck reports IDX as very busy, and certainly the TP-600 sales have had a lot of momentum. The only major cloud on the horizon is uncertainty over the patent infringement DBII case, but there really is no such thing as a leak from an appellate court, so it's not like we're in NRID's situation with a 10K about to break and everyone heading for the exits. Furthermore, the odds are with us on that one. Volume is down, which in this situation is good, technically. Mostly, buying has dried up. This may reflect down times in the biometric stocks (pull up comparative charts -- IDX comes out ahead of its competitors in the one year, two year, and five year results, although it lags AFIS, I think, for the past six months). It could also reflect a great deal of uncertainty as to whether IDX is going sideways or up; uncertainty tends to depress a stock. I don't think IDX's revenues/profits are headed down; we have no sign of that and it would be a dramatic reversal of long established trends. David (A digression: A poster on Yahoo NRID likened their situation to the Titanic, but I think a better parallel would be the Minnow of Gilligan's Island fame. I think Jaffo would be a good Gilligan, but I can't find a Mary Ann over there. Other nominations?).
