MY RESPONSE +++++ READ THE BOTTOM LETTER FIRST< FOR PERSPECTIVE++++++
Lisa Kimberlin,
Believe me, I am not threatening you! I just feel this is a delay that is holding back bad news!
I have no feel for what it is, but have a gut feeling you are to report a downer for the year! I also feel
that the stock price is going to tank, altho it cannot get much worse! I just love the technology, and
thought it had great promise. I think your management needs assistance. Hire some firm to research
a white knight, one with deep pockets that will properly market this product! Buy the firm out or
merge! We are slowly sinking in my opinion!
I have an appointment with my laywer on the 17th of April to discuss this sitituation. If indeed the
report is ready at that time, I will be better informed as to the possibilities available to me and other
stockholders.
Thank you for your prompt response. I am still in the dark!

Dear CW:

I am sorry you feel it necessary to threaten the Company with a lawsuit. By
filing for an extension with the SEC, we are by no means attempting to hide
negative news. As I have relayed to investors, the Company did have
difficulties in the fourth quarter with scanner sales to Asia due to the
economic crises there. Asia represents a significant market for Imatron, and
some scanner orders from Asian nations were cancelled or delayed. We expect
to continue having difficulties selling scanners to Asia until the economic
situation there improves. In addition, our HeartScan subsidiary, which we
consolidate on a 100% basis, continues to experience losses. Even though
we've seen our center results improve in response to new marketing strategies
in the past few months, these centers are not at break even at this time.

Since we changed our auditors from Ernst & Young to KPMG Peat Marwick, it has
taken us longer to bring KPMG up to speed on our previous financial reporting.
As you may know, Imatron has always taken the full 90 days at year end and
full 45 days at quarter end to file financial reports with the SEC. In order
to provide KPMG
with the requested information to address their questions, we have experienced
unanticipated delays, resulting in the filing extension. We expect to report
our year end results within the 15 days.

FYI, in the April 6, 1998, issue of Newsweek there is a favorable article on
Imatron. The article is on page 72; this week's issue hits newsstands today.

If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. I
hope this information is helpful to you.

Regards,

Lisa Kimberlin

Hi Brian, good to hear from you. Sure would be nice to see IMAT take off. Both from a stock point of view, and the benefits to be gained through the early detection of CAD.

I see that software has now been developed that allows for the "fly through" of the arteries. This now allows for the measurement of the blockages. I am posting the site for the company that developed the software. If you have the proper viewer, you can download and play a movie of the "fly through". As you move through the artery you will see the calcium and plaque buildup. A blockage of 98% is shown. The work on this video was done in conjunction with the University of California at San Francisco. Here's the link:

Progress is coming, although very slowly.

PS: Assuming that you can play the video, please let me know what you think of it.

<<I do have some good news. this week's Newsweek has a 2 column article with a
headline and a picture on ultrafast CT and its advantages for screening for
coronary disease. Imatron is not mentioned.>>

Today should be the end of Imatron not being mentioned. I look forward
to seeing the ultrafast CT displayed on television and in magazines with Imatron
very visible to all viewers and readers. Also the Bristol Myers-Squibb radio ads
should now include Imatron's name.
