AUSTRALIA'S OMNITECH SUPPLIES 200,000 SMART CARDS TO CHINA 3/6/98
SYDNEY - Australian electronics company Omnitech Ltd has forecast "considerable growth" with the supply of US$20 million worth of its contactless smart card and smart card reader to China. The company had supplied 200,000 contactless smart cards to the Shanghai Transit system, and a further 300,000 cards had been ordered. The four-year contract, in conjunction with Cubic Corp [AMEX:CUB] of the United States, was worth about US$20 million to Omnitech when completed, chairman Arthur Sturgess said.
