Leasing the CJ

Altair claims that it is not interested in selling the CJ. Instead, it wants to lease the equipment.

A typical claim of Altair (as taken from one of its news releases)

Under the terms of the agreement, Altair has granted BHP a non-exclusive license for use of the Centrifugal Jig. Altair will deliver and set up the Centrifugal Jig and train BHP personnel to operate and conduct routine maintenance on the equipment. Further, Altair will also provide limited consulting on an ongoing basis.

The above is similar to the agreements with DuPont and Kerr-McGee.

A look at the balance sheet tells us that Altair has not generated any operating revenues. That is $0.00 revenues.

Do the lease agreements state that Altair will provide equipment and services free of cost? Maybe Altair is doing this so that they can get some free publicity by associating themselves with the names of major mining firms?

Disclaimer : The above is my speculative opinion and is not intended to influence anybody. Everyone is advised to do their own research.

Regards,
Rajiv
