Micron may propose anti-dumping tariffs on Taiwan-made DRAMs

TAIPEI (AFX-ASIA) - Micron Corp may propose to the U.S. government that
it impose anti-dumping tariffs on Taiwan-made dynamic random access memory
(DRAM) chips, the Commercial Times quoted Vanguard International
Semiconductor Corp vice president Hsieh Hui-rong as saying.
Vanguard has prepared a blueprint to respond to such a move, should it be
initiated by Micron, the newspaper said.
Nan Ya Technology Co vice president Kao Chi-chuan also said his company
has documents at hand to clarify the issue to the U.S. authorities if
necessary.
The newspaper added that the anti-dumping conflict may be a prelude to
rise in DRAM prices.
