<< You know well that today was the last chance for those who run the "funds" to pretend to not own any stock which is not fashionable. >>

If I was in a mutual fund and the manager sold a stock because he didn't want to carry it on the books as a loser I would take my money out in a hurry. I want managers to sell a stock because there is something wrong with it, not just because it was a loser for the quarter.

<< Would appreciate your view on my "take" on Bell Atlantic "contract" - a first for short distance DWDM. >>

Just like in the long-haul biz, I expect CIEN to come out with the best solutions the quickest. Don't get me wrong, I am not disappointed with CIEN the company, I am just disappointed with myself. I didn't get home for the open and I missed out on my chance to sell CIEN for a profit. I don't claim that I would have sold at the top (46 3/8), but I certainly would have sold it before it turned into a loss as it went from 46 3/8 down to a 1/4 down to an 1/8 etc. After I got back from an errand I watched CIEN for a while and it seemed to hang around the 45 area and the market looked ok so I took a nap for a few hours. (I didn't get any sleep the night before). Shame on me.

I woke up and CIEN was down almost 3! Then my Mariners lost even with 4 home runs. My computer is still screwed up and giving me problems, putting a damper on my trading. Now you know why I'm cranky. Don't mind me, I still like CIEN for the long-run.

At least my Sonics whipped the Jazz in a close one.
