OK, it's a preposterous dream but you need to read a little slower before throwing flames. It's basic English. "Lukoil, a major US company, Mr. Robinov, and perhaps a Gazprom..." is a list of 4 separate entities. The second entity is an un-named US major. There's not the vaguest hint that Lukoil, Mr. Robinov, or Gazprom is a US major.

As for the rocks in his head, well I guess I've got no argument with that.

Faris is making references to individual companys involved, not that LUK oil or Gazprom are US companys.
