Did you compare reports for the two systems with several stocks? Do the results differ much in profit testing?

Wouldn't the second system be:

Buy: Ref(Cross(Fml("StochRSI(14)"), 30),-1)
Ref(Cross(70, Fml("StochRSI(14)")),-1)

I tried it with INTC, just in a quick check, and the results differed by 1 percentage point.

How strictly would you follow either system? Would you ever anticipate signals in trading, seeing StochRSI heading for 30 or 70? In other words, if StochRSI is just above 70 and falling (with yesterday's data), and the price is falling today, would you anticipate that StochRSI is going to cross under 70 and then sell near the close?

Richard could say much more about profit testing, and about finding a system you like and sticking with it. I confess that I tend to be a bit sloppy about profit testing.

I meant this:

Buy: Ref(Cross(Fml("StochRSI(14)"), 30),-1)
Sell: Ref(Cross(70, Fml("StochRSI(14)")),-1)

But my 15 minutes gave out. Of course, Andy Warhol had something to say about that.
