As George Allen the Washington Redskin coach used to say - the future is now. The Bells in long distance is IMO Pie in the Sky. In fact data transmission in the local Bell Atlantic east coast offers the real opportunity for the company IMO. This means building fiber and using the little it has more efficiently - and wireless. You worry about 3 points. With the upward trend in Ciena over the next months and years - who cares? :-) To repeat LU has vaporware here. And the Bell Atlantic contract is the test for short distance and metro DWDM. Huge. IMO. But then I try to spot major trends - fiber and wireless - for example, find the best companies, such as QWST, CIEN, UNPH in fiber and QCOM, LOR and G* in wireless - and hold for 5 years at a minimum unless fundamentals change. I care only about real world progress, not temporary stock moves based on the emotion, ignorance and irrationality of the "market" Cheers. Chaz
