I do not recall AMD ever publicly announcing yield improvement.

What is your take?

You are estimating $1,000 cost per wafer. The consensus here at SI is much higher than that. Can you support your figure?

I am not sure what are the AMD's plans for writing off equipment expenses now. AMD is behind on that, I think, so cpu would (may) not show profit for few more quarters.
