I am posting for T-Bone this is his comment <<We can settle the argument right here and now. If FIBR's products are so superior (like they brag about in theuir 10K) then how come CIEN and others are announcing the contracts and FIBR is doing nothing?>> Craig, don't you understand the process yet? The Firefly has been out since September. The fact is that it is just announcing it's first major deal(if you consider sharing 1/2 of $25-30M with Lucent major). The Gigamux on the otherhand, has only been undergoing the testing process for ~3 months. They have already made some sales and i expect something major soon. << What a crock. Now all of a sudden the Firefly doesn't compete with the Gigamux? (Your right they don't compete but that's because the Gigamux is a bunch of hype).>> All of a sudden? Don't you listen? We talked about the Firefly and it's shortcomings back in January. And i just repeated it all lastnight...did you miss that? By the way, you can call the Gigamux a bunch of hype...but that just shows how uninformed you are as an investor in Ciena. Not that Ciena is a bad investment, but shouldn't you know a little more about their markets? Are you that "aware" when it comes to ALL of your investments? << FIBR would have you believe that their super Gigamux can do short-haul, long haul, and everything inbetween. "Just add a power booster". Sounds like something you add to your Sparkomatic stereo. A 7 band EQ with 30 watt booster amp. >> Who's claiming the Gigamux does long-haul? Craig, your language is foul....no vulgarity, but it wreaks of impropriety and deception. <<FIBR loves to point out that the Giga can serve so many different markets, then CIEN wins an order and all of a sudden FIBR fans say the Firefly doesn't compete with that product. You can't have it both ways. If your going to say that Osicom's WDM doesn't compete with the Firefly then you need to take about $10 billion in market opportunities away from FIBR. That's the market potential that the Firefly is said to address.>> There you go with your "all of a sudden" again. You clearly don't understand the first thing about these technologies. Yes, the Firefly and the Gigamux are both short-haul applications, but one product(the Firefly) addresses a very limited number of needs, whereas the other(the Gigamux) address an extensive array of needs. Capisch? I could explain all of that again, but it would be easier if you just go back and review my previous posts. Read them a few times if you have to...just make sure to get it right finally. But there IS one thing i will repeat one more time for you...when i bought my largest chunk of FIBR, i had a complete awareness of the Firefly. Anyone else on the Yahoo board back in January had the same awareness. If you had been reading that board back then, maybe you would have learned something...maybe. G'day to you.
