We agree on one thing. AMD can be a "bad" company and inflict damage on Intel. Believe me, I tried very hard to be polite in my post and I will continue to try to be polite.

I didn't ask you to defend your position that both AMD and CYRIX chips were "better". I was startled by your position and tried to find a rationale (cheaper) that you might be using. If you actually think that they are objectively better (though I fail to see where larger die, higher power requirements, lower max speeds, inability to support SMP and higher cost to produce are "better") than we are obviously using different metrics. The only area where there might be an interesting comparison in my mind is the "Celeron" issue and that might be a useful discussion, though I don't have enough information on that issue to date.

Best regards and good investing,
Burt

lanac. Re: burt and jhon. I think that I did not ask people like you to respond at all, you r die hard Intel fans etc.

I have read now sev. posts of yours on both Intel threads and I do not recall that only wavering Intel fans should reply. You have received sev. answers to your questions on both Intel threads but you seem to be probing for a negative answer on Intel. Maybe you should try the AMD or CYRIX thread, even though you are an Intel investor. I am sure they will tell you all that you want to hear.

BTW. If you think that AMD and CYRIX has better chips you should invest in those companies and not Intel. I don't invest in a company when I think there is something better in that sector unless it is for a quick profit.

Sonny

Re: I think that I did not ask people like you to respond at all

So, who asked you to post?

This is a forum. The whole idea is to communicate. If you post, expect responses. If you don't like those "constraints" placed on you, then maybe you need to stand on a corner handing out leaflets. That way you can direct your communications in a manner that allows you not to have to deal w/ unwanted responses.

"Everybody knows that AMD and Cyrix is better than Intel"? And why aren't the industry leaders, either in technology or in sales? Very convincing logic, Einstein.

re: burt and jhon I think that I did not ask people like you to respond

you addressed your post to "thread". your agenda is transparent. I rarely post to the thread, because there are far more competent posters on this thread, but i wonder why you would post as if seeking information, when your mind is made up already. Also, if I felt the way you do, I doubt I would be long INTC

tell me why you think K-6 is superior to PII, please
