Pat: I do not believe any Company including CIEN has an Optical switch to replace an Electronic one. If they did, the Edge Router/Intelligent Switch market would collapse.

As for the last Mile, the problem with those links is that the SOHO/Consumer needs more dollars to make the transition. They, like me, are looking for a Company that that makes the technology change less expensive.
