Waiting for Jaz to come in...

While the stock simmers in its little pot, an everyday report from a user.

At 30MB per imaging set, our university research group moves through zip carts at a fair clip. (Digital imaging of fluid flow.) So we are switching to jaz. But it's sold out at our small inhouse computer store. $289 external. The last batch (100 or so) went in about a month I think. We're getting SCSI and parallel adapters,to share the jaz with an older PC (pre-PCI).

The last few people to graduate have left behind theses and all charts & images on zips. It's becoming expected. Prob. nice to have them on CD-ROM eventually as well, but that gadget hasn't made its way into the group yet.

cheers all
