Claude, you raise the very interesting distinction between gender and sex. And I am in favor of both!

[For those of you who are unaware of the distinction, gender encompasses any aggregation. For example, the sizes large, medium and small are genders. Sex is a type of gender, but the grammatical distinctions of masculine and feminine are not sexual genders -- they are purely grammatical. Thus, the word he does not necessarily denote a male. In German you have a neuter gender. The German word for girl (clearly an individual of the female persuasion) is included in neuter.]
