Not An April Fools Joke - But Sounds like one

Shares of KLA-Tencor (KLAC) climbed 2.9 percent Wednesday afternoon even after the maker of semiconductor-manufacturing equipment said it will miss analysts' earnings estimates for its third quarter. KLA-Tencor expects to report revenue of about $270 million, a 17 percent decline from second-quarter levels. Analysts had expected the chip-equipment maker to earn 47 cents a share on sales of $300 million. The company cited the slowdown in capital spending by semiconductor makers burdened by weakness in Asian economies. Shares rose 1 1/8 to 39 3/8. CBS MARKET NEWS
