Re: pre-product cycle demand slump This is a well known phenomenon. When people know there's something new coming they push out purchases. The PC vendors know this and try to lure them with offers of free upgrades. I think MSFT has gotten ahead of itself, just like it did in Aug 95. After the release of 95, sales didn't meet expectations and you can see that the stock slumped. We'll probably see that again, but worse. If so I'll use it as a buy window.
