Doug --

I don't have the marketing expertise you have, but I do think the Internet is changing the way we communicate, the way we do business, and the way we digest news and information. This is a major paradigm shift. Once cars were invented, roads had to be built. Once trains were invented, railroads were installed. The same with the Internet --- the highway, and that includes switches, routers, modems, cables, has to be put in place. At first the price of highspeed access may be out of reach for the mass market. It'll start with business and work its way down.

Yes, there'll be a major shake-out in the computer and networking industry. It's already happening. The giants will dominate. Companies that have the right technology are being swallowed, some before they're even public.

It's fascinating, and I'm placing my bets on NN, ASND, TXN, CSCO, and a few others.

Later --

Pat
