Chuca, I do not disagree with this statement. PGM's have been recovered from copper mines. However, they are a small byproduct.
Typical total PGM's from a standard copper mining operation in Arizona and New Mexico runs 0.08 ppm (0.0026 ounces per ton).

Of course when you process 30,000 tons of ore per day you will have 78 ounces of PGM's per day. Not a bad return.
