"* is the only system in development or on the drawing boards that will challenge Ma Bell. We are a potential phone "SYSTEM. I* is and will be, a stand alone system."

This is a point that I think many many others online seem to miss. There's a cadre of G* lovers who hate I* for some reason, and its hell convincing them of the advantage of intersatellite linking. (But then, I just put my money where my mouth is and not worry about it.)

Once the service is in orbit, they can sell handsets to anybody. Every handset is an additional last mile solution. Where Globalstar will have to add groundstations to increase COVERAGE, Iridium can add them to increase CAPACITY. Its true that G* has more capacity to begin with (part of the reason I bought G* stock as well.) but for me, the coverage issue is more important than the cost one.

BTW: I bought stock in both this january. G* @ 63 and IRIDF @ 41. I'm up %50 in I* and .5% in G*! Quite a difference.

Right On Dudes! There is enough demand to satisfy all of the current satellite systems, G & I. The smart money is presumably buying both!
We are just at the beginning of the satellite communication explosion. I am happy to be on board, and happy to keep adding to my position as time goes forward. Go I, Go G, Go Mot, Go TTN!
