that is a legitimate concern. You do not hear those very often nower days. I guess AMD would need to prove itself that it can solve yields problems.
But there two sides to it:
1)if AMD would manage to do it then AMD would be in a good shape and Intel would suffer
2)if AMD would not manage to that then Intel would benefit and AMD would suffer

Upto this point AMD did very poor job producing chips and they yet to prove that they can solve yield problems. The rumors of better yields at this point are still rumors. Lets wait till CC before we jump to any conclusion on that topic.
