Great post, Vic. Sorry it wasn't anything personal. Darn. :-)

A comment here and there... That's much what I was thinking in regard to the incipient class society. I've not kept up with this board, (avoided it for years), so most of the ideas are new to me, but I don't like this paying vs non-paying distinction. I don't read Yahoo because I don't have time, but the one stock I read there has a much better board there than here.

If no one chewed out Alomex for his word, either they don't read most of his posts (I don't) or they feel they can't reason with him; that he's incorrigible. It could be complimentary.

Don't leave. The board isn't a static entity, even if it seems like a closed club now. A place has been set at the table for you.

Linda

Vic,

I agree with Linda's suggestion - don't leave. I think you are
a little sensitive about what others said to you. Originally, I was
the same type. But now, I feel little care about what others said to
me as long as I feel I have entirely contributed what I know to the group
here with honesty.

I knew you, Kurt and Eric are three biggest contributors on Yahoo
stock board and hence we need your voices here, like "good morning
everyone".

Phil

That said, I will slither back under my unwashed rock and leave you all to your incest. As Groucho said: "I wouldn't belong to any club that would have me for a member."

Good riddance, VicAppl. I was the one who told you you should apologize after you had already did, because I will not always read forward on a thread.

I heard good things about you from other posters on this board, but the condescending crap you put forth in this last post tell me that you are too narcissistic for my tasks. This thread welcomes posters who provide meaningful, thoughtful comments. Your post to Alomex, a bear with only occasional new thoughts (but some), was out of place and totally at odds with your statement:

S.I. Apple has come to resemble a sort of Appalachian mountain community, where everyone knows everyone else and new ideas are beaten down as "alien." Nothing new gets in, and nothing new gets out.

You are the one who was beating up on Alomex. You are the one who made a totally baseless accusation just to make yourself feel good. You are the one who did not check your facts, yet found it appropriate to post a disdainful comment. You are the one who violated the very principal that you just finished making.

Again, VicAppl, from a fellow long, Good Riddance!

Sam

P.S.

I see that both Linda and Phil disagree with the stance of this comment. I'm sorry, but I think that VicAppl is bitching about the exact type of put down and meaningless garble that he offered against Alomex.

I also welcome VicAppl to stay, but I want from him as from anyone meaningful and informative dialogue. I don't like the repetitive nature of Alomex's postings, but he did not flame others. VicAppl's post was a flame pure and simple. If that ends, then I welcome his input.

Hello Vic If it can bring you some relief, I totally agree with your analysis of Alomex attitude, except for the one point that he did in fact change his position about AAPL, as you surely know now. I didn't said it before because i saw no interest for the board doing it. You and Alomex are two valuable members of this board, (I read your comment on Yahoo). There was clearly an misunderstanding between you and him, he overreacting, and you too new to this thread to know what Alomex does think about Apple , that he didn't necessarily included in the exchanges you had. Alomex being one of the only bearish with an educated view here, we cherish him a lot ... forgiving him some weaknesses. As for the general tone of the board, 1. don't take the last weeks for representative 2. As Phil said, just pick up what interests you. Be sure that every new piece of information is really welcome and carefully scrutinized. I noticed the denser post often receive less follow-up than futile one. This is logic: it makes the answers more difficult. But I am pretty sure they are nevertheless the most appreciated A bient“t Hugues

VicAppl,

I was an early poster boy on Yahoo. I left because the noise level became so unbearably high that it took several hours a day to keep up with the board. Now I'm an SI poster boy. I do not resent new posts from new poster boys and girls.

What I do resent is long tired essays with little to contribute except exasperating reviews of someone else's post or posts. If it is so important to you that your opinions concerning the posting quality of this board be heard, I'm happy for you that you got your 2› worth in.

However, I might remind you that despite the enormous effort you put into your tirade, 2› is more than it is worth.

That is my review of your review. PLEASE! No more reviews. Let's talk stock.

Good hunting,
HerbVic

VicAppl: I committed the terrible faux pas of being mistaken about a date (apparently a major crime)

I'm surprised that almost nobody (thanks Sam!) took this guy up to task for this shameless rewriting of he said. Here's the actual quote:

VicAppl: I'm certain your conversion to "neutral" on Apple, came only within the last several weeks.
